just hanging out

So, this has been a very interesting week with work. I absolutely love my job but I don't understand how come some doctors order tests on their patients when the patients obviously aren't able to stand the test. It is very hard sometimes. I feel like I'm almost causing more pain than actually helping. I learn so much working in health care and with radiation...like how little doctors and surgeons actually know about it. I had this doctor ask me the other day if when we are processing the cassettes if radiation is being released...ugh...no. I was reading my ASRT radtech journal and it actually had an article in it about radiation used in the operating room and how the doctors just don't understand the damage that can be caused to themselves being under the fluoro tube or standing so close all the time. I know they wear the lead and some even wear the lead lined surgical gloves but it's just interesting that so many don't have a real knowledge about radiation physics.

Daily Grind

So, I try to be nice but I'm so sick of going to work to hear a person b**ch and complain the whole. Just quit already. I love my job and I love what I do. Some days it may seem like you do more work than others but we are all assigned to specific areas and we rotate so it all works out in the end. I really want to go back and get my CT cert and get my BS in health admin. I think I will try to get my CT in fall of 2010. That way GW will be done and maybe almost done with his FNP. I am so ready to be in a position of managment. I want to know more about how the organization works but I also want to help it run more efficently.
Landon has his very first set of spelling words. He did well writing them. I'm so scared about the first spelling test. I want him to succed and know how smart he truly is. I just don't know how this school is going to help. I am ready for out PTC on thursday so we can get this testing started. I don't want him to feel bad about himself because he can't keep up like the other kids.

Clean up

Today we finished up all the yard work from the Storm. Well, just really the Wind called Hanna. I got a bunch of the pictures from our vacation uploaded and the boys spring sports. I'm very exhusted and having horrible cramps and back pains cramps. Not sure why. We have been talking about trying to get preggo but I am sure we aren't yet. But this sure does feel like a miscarriage. No blood thou...I'm not sure what is going on with my body.

Going to bed to start another week of work. I'm doing fluoro...which I love so that is good. I'm so lucky and blessed to have a job that I love and people that I love to work with. I mean it's not perfect but it is perfect for me. We are having a surprise 40th bday party for Steve our supervisor tomorrow. That will be fun.

Logan starts soccer this week. I'm excited and so is he. He is a bulldog. Landon has Sylvain and hopefully swimming. Off to the races with these two and there activies.

Hurricane Hannah

So, we survived!! Yeah!! Okay, so really I kept waiting for all this rain and wind....nothing. We had some branches down in our yard but no big deal. I am glad it wasn't bad but I just giggle at how hysterical everyone gets. I think my parents in Raleigh probably got more rain than we did. We got to burn today...LOL...we have a huge burn pile to finish. GW will never really leave firefighting behind.

I am trying to get all my pictures off the old computer so I can get them printed to scrap. Damn if that computer didn't crash and die. Now I have to spend money at BB to get the pictures off. What a pain. I am going to a scrap weekend in October and I'm so excited to get a ton of stuff done.

Logan starts soccer this week and I'm glad...he needs something to channel that energy. I have to get Landon signed up for swimming. He starts boy scouts in a few weeks and he is so excited. I'm excited and nervous as hell about this school year with him. He will be getting tested soon and I'm glad because he is so smart but just not able to focus or remember as well as his peers.
