catch up...

WOW...what a busy week.

So, I want to update about Landon. On Monday I had my meeting with the SA Team. He got his IEP (praise God) and he starts Monday Dec 1 in his exceptional childrens class and he qualified for speech. I'm so thankful. The school psychologist and speech therapist were amazing and said no matter the numbers they were doing an override because Landon desperatly needs extra help. He qualified in one area with a -18 but the other was -11 and you have to have -15 in both. I think his kindergarden teach would have fought too...she says she can see him starting to act out because he is frustrated that he can't keep up with the others.

We spent Tuesday evening cleaning for the in-laws to get here.

Wednesday the boys hung out with Glenn all day since they didn't have to go to school. glenn had to go to the eye doctor only to discover that he also need glasses...he called me at work saying "I'm falling apart"...LOL...yeah...32 and your already digging the grave...nut. He is having issues with getting older...his poor back, tons of meds and now glasses. So, then they had to go to Greenville to ECU...Glenn had to do something...but the boys love going on campus seeing all the pirate stuff.

Thursday I had to work and so they guys stayed home and fryed a turkey. When I got home I wanted to run to Michael's in Morehead City to get a pre-lite tree on sale. So, we headed down and got a perfect tree. I'm so excited.

Time flies when your...just living

So, here we are at the end of the day on a Sunday. Our day for church, family and relaxing BUT not today. I had to go into work yesterday because I was on call. StuG called out and K's hubby had heart surgery so that left 3 techs to run the show. It actually was okay because it is overtime which I won't pass up the money but I hate that I work 5 days a week...I get two days with my family and to clean the house. This week...I got one.

I spent my time cleaning carpets in the dining room, playroom and boys bedroom. I made a pot roast and a huge pot of veggy/hamburger soup. I figure that will be good to get through the week since it is Thanksgiving at all. Glenn only has one day this week of school. I have to work all 5 days. Glenn will be fixing 2 turkeys and I'm sure his mom will fix a feast once she gets here. I also had to take Landon to the doctor because he has had a HIGH (102) fever for 3 days and this morning his throat was raw with blisters. They dr says it's NOT strep...thankgoodness. They are seeing lots of colds with fevers for 5 days. So, I pray school won't send him home because the dr says he will be fine to go.

I have my meeting tomorrow at 3:30 with the IEP team and I'm talking my friend Tina, who is the Sylvan director, with me. I got the psyhic report and it sounds like Landon has severe reading and writing disablities with ADHD. None of this surprises me. I just want to know how we are going to help him. He is doing really well with his spelling list decreased from 10 to 3. He is a whiz at math...it's truly amazing to see. It just breaks my heart when he struggles with words and just gives up shouting "I can't read...I can't do it". I hope we can get him to a point to love to read. He loves to be read to...so that is really good.

Speaking of reading...I have been slowed down in my Twilight Saga because of life but it is still so good. I just love love love Edward. I went Friday night with my girlfriends Angela and Midori to see the movie. We had a blast. There is this new Hibachi Grill buffet in Greenville and it is sooooooooooooooooooooooo good. LOL Cheap too. It's huge and the people waiting to get in is always spilling out the door. It's crazy...you'd think it's Cheesecake Factory or something.

So, I have alot more stuff to do this week after work than I was expecting but what else is new...LOL. I also need to figure out when I can get to Raleigh to get our Christmas stuff out of storage. I may just have to take a day off because with Thanksgiving (in-laws) coming this weekend and I'm on call the next weekend again, then Logan's bday party the following weekend...I'm pretty screwed on time.

Carolina Snow...

We had snow flurries today. Of course it melted as soon as it hit the ground but it was fun to see the big flakes fall. It is very very cold...time to pull out the winter coats and gloves.

The hosptial gave out turkeys today to all the employees. So, Glenn and I have 2 since we both work there. Now I have 2 huge turkey ROCKS...but I think we will fry one and smoke the other. I need to think about what we will fix next week so I can go to the store. The In-Laws will be here Thursday and I have to work. We will have a good dinner on Thursday but a big dinner on Saturday and Glenn has invited some of the "singles" to come over. My husband is so awesome...they way he thinks about others and wants everyone to come have a great Thanksgiving dinner. I love him so much. I am truely blessed to have a man that is so compationate about other people.

artsy fartsy...

Landon drew this picture today and I just loved it so I wanted to share with everyone. I love how exact he is...he put on his glasses. Of course, Logan said it wasn't right because Izzy wasn't in it...LOL...only logan would say that.

What a day today. It was crazy...we had 5 O.R. cases going today with really only 2 techs but I pulled one from the ED and myself...it was NUTS. BUT we made it thru...HOOOOOORAY. Then of course when we get that taken care of the floors print on 3 fluoro cases...I have one good fluoro room...all wanting to go at the same time. I worked out thank goodness and I made it thru day 1 of "in charge"...the great news is I work with amazing people and everyone does their job so it's not like I really have to be in charge we just get the work done.

Here are some of the boys school pictures from this year.

refresh...

I love weekends that help you relax and refresh from the week and prepare for the next. We went Friday night to Greenville to have dinner with my girlfriends Midori and Angela. We had a blast.

I took the boys Saturday morning to get haircuts and then we went to the pool. They had blast. I love that they are little fish and that the Y has a covered pool in the winter. I finished my Twilight book and started on New Moon. This series is so amazing. I was reading in the paper how they are comparing it to the "next" Harry Potter. I don't think you can compare them. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Harry Potter and I love Twilight but differently. You just can't compare...they are both GREAT series. I haven't been this involved in a book in a long time. So anywho, later we took the boys to see Madagascar 2. It was so fun and a great family movie. Our boys our addicted to japaneese steakhouse food so we went to Mushasi for dinner. When we got home I took the nice quiet time to clean our bedroom. It looks so much better today. They boys rented "Kung Fu Panda" and Landon loves to watch movies "all together" as he says. So, today we watched it as a family.

I'm really feeling frustrated because we signed Landon up for Upward basketball at church and I said we can NOT do Thursday nights because we have boy scouts. So today they call and tell me we have practice Thursday nights at 8pm....excuse me WHAT...I can deal with Thursday but not NOT 8pm. I don't know about other families with 1st graders but my child is in bed by 8pm. Heck, I'm in bed by 9pm. So, Glenn and I discussed it. I think we are going to have to pull him out and go back to the Y. Which we like but Upward just seemed like a great program. I'm so upset and just frustrated about this.

So, here is my big stresser for the week...we thought we were pregnant....HOLY CRAP. Not really good timing for us. BUT I'm not. Glenn is really disapointed and I'm not. Don't get me wrong I don't think we are done having kids...no we aren't "trying" for a girl - give me 10 boys...I just love boys but I'm not really ready to get preggo till after May when Glenn has graduated. I was watching the boys this morning working in the yard with Glenn and I can't believe how they are turning into men. It makes me happy and sad at the same time. Logan turns 4 in a month. Where has the time gone...so much has happened in the last 4 years. I think we are going to have a pool party for Logan at the Y...yeah for inclosed pools...LOL. I really didn't want to have it at our house.

Sick days....

My two babies are sick today....

Logan is feeling bad with fever and ear ache and Izzy has the sniffles. So, Logan's Dr. gives him ciprodex and Motrin while the vet gives Izzy antibiotics and eye stuff...unreal...LOL.

I did get some laundry done and I made baked potato soup. Logan felt pretty good this afternoon so we threw the football around and took a little walk to get some fresh air. We picked up Landon in car pool and he was on cloud 9. That breaks my heart. This morning he wanted me to walk him into to his classroom. this is the only problem with me working is that he want's so much to be a walker/bike rider and with my schedule he can't. I work 730 till 400 M-F which is a perfect schedule for a mom. I may have the option of going weekend nights...13hr shifts but I'd miss Saturday & Sunday activites and church because I'd need to sleep. I feel so torn inside about it.

Landon has this project to cut out a turkey (which I did today) and dress it up in a disguise to try to survive past Thanksgiving. So, tonight he colored it and he wants to dress it up as a Nurse (like daddy). So, I cut some fabric out and tomorrow night we will glue the outfit on the turkey.

Well, no school tomorrow for Landon and Glenn. So, the boys will stay home with him tomorrow. Glenn is working tonight 11-7 so I guess the boys will ride to work with me and we will switch off. That is a great thing about working at the same hospital.

days going by...

I can't believe it's already the 10th of November. The year has flown by. What an amazing year it has been. G will graduate with his BSN RN in only 6 months. I...me..yes me...I have been the bread winner this year and it really doesn't matter but it feels so good to take care of my family and to absolutly love what I do. I wouldn't trade staying home with the kids as babies at all but I love my work. I love the way it makes me feel....like I'm actually helping to make a difference in someones day or life if my xray helps them find something.

We had a yard sale yesterday and it was successful. We made almost 500 dollars and only had a few boxes to drop off at goodwill. It feels nice to be rid of stuff we don't need and hope it finds a good home. I love watching the kids look through toys, books, stuffed animals and the smiles..the excitement on their little faces when they buy stuff. I mean we only charge a nickel or dime because all we want it really for the stuff to find a good home.

Logan is not feeling well again...but we gave him some meds and he is looking better...even if it's only for 3-4 hours. I'll probably have to stay home with him tomorrow. I'm sure it's his allergies. If we skip one dose then BAM it hits him. I can't wait and I'm sure he can't either till he is 5 and can get shots. The boys and I made cookies today. They love to cook and I love for them to help because I hope it will give them great memories of their childhood.

I'm sure this month will fly by...I'm on call next week as well as being superviser as SC will be in San Fran for a PACS conference. I'm so excited they asked me and have trained me to be super when SC is gone. I haven't even been there a year yet and you know what I like it. I have to figure stuff out for Logs birthday. I wanted to do it the first weekend of Dec but I'm taking someones call and G says he has finals to study for. I just don't want to push it to close to christmas...because of friends and he will be getting so much so close together. Work party. Shopping. Christmas. I'm tired thinking about being so busy.

Lots to say and no time to say it.....

I am so frusted that I'm not using my blog as much as I would like. I always have lots to say and I need to journal each day but I get so exhusted I just crash at night.

Let's see...we have a new kitten - Izzy.

I was taking my afternoon break at work and walking in the parking lot with my friend Pam. We heard this sad pathetic little meow and turned around. She was so little and nasty. I knew I could not take her because of Logan's allergies but I said I'd help my friend Kathy who didn't get off work till 5. Well, I put her in the car and went to get the boys. They fell in love with her. Anyway, we are keeping her and Logan is doing great as long as he takes his meds. She was only 3lbs at her first check up - I can't wait to see how much she has grown at her next appointment.

Landon has glasses now and was so excited now he never wants to wear them.

Work is work and I always have lots of stories but nothing new to share today.
